Hans Petter Eikeland extends commitment as CEO.
The board of directors in Bergen Group ASA has today signed an agreement with Hans Petter Eikeland to extend his commitment as CEO until July 1, 2017.
Eikeland was engaged as CEO of Bergen Group ASA in August 2015 for a period of one year. He was to manage the company through a difficult restructuring phase that could lay the foundation for profitable growth in the continuing operations.
“The Board is very pleased with the turnaround process that Hans Petter Eikeland has led over the past year. We are therefore pleased that he has agreed to extend the commitment for another year until the next summer”, says Chairman Tor Lars Onarheim.
Hans Petter Eikeland looks forward to lead the Bergen Group going forward.
“Bergen Group has been through a tough and challenging, but essential restructuring process this last year. At the same time, we have managed to ensure that the Group now has a competitive expertise and capacity in continuing operations. Our proven capability to deliver and at the same increase our company backlog is impressive. For this, every employees of the company deserves credit. Now I do look forward to continue with different processes that ensure continued profitability and an existing long-term growth for the company”, he says.
Eikeland, who during the past year has invested in the company and today is the company's 12th largest shareholder. He has an extensive experience from various leadership positions within offshore related business. He has been CEO in Ability Drilling ASA, Rig Manager and VP Operations in Odfjell Drilling and Rig Manager in Smedvig Drilling. As an investor and entrepreneur, he has extensive experience in restructuring and development of industrial companies, including as one of the founders of the listed company AGR, and as 50% owner of Safeguard Group which during just a few years multiplied the turnover before the company were purchased by the international group Assa Abloy.
